LAU KUPU DAY Fall 2024

Mahalo piha!

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for our Fall Lau Kupu Community Day of Service on October 26, 2024! Your participation and presence made the day truly unforgettable. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our mission and community!

Together, alongside Kuilima Farms, we celebrated National Make a Difference Day. From learning sustainable farming practices and restoring the mala (dryland taro patches) to planting lilikoʻi and out-planting a beautiful variety of taro, every moment strengthened our connection to the ʻāina and to each other.

Thanks to supporters like you, Kupu has been able to achieve remarkable milestones: over $177 million in economic benefit to Hawai‘i, over 6,000 youth and young adults kick-starting their futures, 1.5 million native species planted, and 9,000 acres of invasive plants cleared. Every $1 donated to Kupu yields $3 in economic benefits for the State of Hawai‘i, amplifying your impact in big ways.

LAU KUPU DAY Spring 2024

Mahalo for joining us!

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for Kupu’s Spring Lau Kupu Day on Saturday, April 6th. Lau Kupu Day is always a special event where Kupu strives to strengthen our bond with the community through a day of service and dedicated support for our youth.

In honor of Earth Day, we partnered with Kauluakalana located in Kailua, O'ʻahu whose mission is “to restore and grow healthy relationships between people and place through the aloha ʻāina practices of retelling our Kailua-specific stories, replanting and eating our ancestral foods, and caring for the sacred sites, lands, and waters of our beloved ahupuaʻa of Kailua.”

Your support of Kupu and events like these enables us to swiftly respond to community needs. With your support, Kupu has launched programs expanding employment opportunities for Maui residents and is working to reduce the harmful effects of global warming and climate change. Funds raised at Lau Kupu Day directly supports Kupu’s mission.
